Vive tu vida
The nation’s premier annual physical activity
and Hispanic family health celebration.
Get Up Get Moving

At the Hispanic Federation’s ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!™ FREE event, participants were dancing towards better health! This event was held on Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the Henry Street School for International Studies. The goal was to take a physical activity traditionally associated with Latino culture – dancing – and highlight it as a component of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for persons of all ages and sizes. Booths and workshops provided participants with FREE information on health issues affecting the Latino community, including asthma, diabetes, heart disease, eye health, and depression. A range of FREE health screenings were available. Professional dance instructors gave dance lessons on different styles such as salsa, merengue, and other Latin musical rhythms. Univision children’s show personalities Los Solecitos entertained the crowd with music and dance!
