American Heart MonthCardiovascular diseases, including stroke, are our nation's No. 1 killer. Since 1963 Congress has required the president to proclaim February "American Heart Month" to urge Americans to join the battle against these diseases.

Community Health Center Locator
Find community health centers, migrant health centers, public housing primary care projects, and other sources of health care funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. You can search by location, types of program and types of service.

Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Information Center
The HRSA information center provides publications, resources and referrals on health care services for low-income, uninsured individuals and those with special health care needs via a comprehensive Web site or a toll-free number: 1-888-Ask-HRSA. More specifically, users will find detailed listings of facilities that provide free or reduced-cost health services, information on sites that provide comprehensive primary health care services for people living with HIV, listings of dental providers who provide care to people living with HIV, organ donor cards, etc.

This site offers a detailed list of state public health agencies with additional links to local public health services.

Eldercare Locator Toll Free 800-677-1166
The Eldercare Locator is a nationwide, directory assistance service designed to assist older persons and caregivers locate local support resources for aging Americans to help them remain independent in their own homes. It can also help caregivers find ways to get a well deserved break. The Eldercare Locator will provide names and phone numbers of organizations within a desired location, anywhere in the country. Monday through Friday, 9 am to 8 pm Eastern Time. For TDD/TTY, access the relay service at 202-855-1234, or to reach a live operator, call 202-855-1000.

Offers a detailed listing of directories, online physician locators, blood bank locators, assisted living or residential care facility locators, hospital directories, and more.
